October 2018. He recently removed four wisdom teeth for my son, supposedly under a general anesthetic which means he should have been unconscious and feeling no pain until the surgery was over. My son WOKE UP DURING SURGERY because he was not given sufficient anesthetic and he was not monitored well. (no-one checked his weight even though he stated clearly that he was not sure how much he weighed). As you can imagine this was a horrifying experience, most especially because he was not able to communicate his distress to Dr. Gusenbauer who just carried on removing the teeth, knowing that my son was not properly sedated. He offered no apology and his flippant explanations showed little or no empathy for the pain and distress he caused my son. I strongly suggest you find another surgeon. One who employs an anesthesiologist who is focussed entirely on his/her role while the dental surgeon is focussed on removing the teeth. DON'T trust this guy!!!
