I brought in the necessary documents, will/ death certificate, which were photocopied. An appointment was set up for a few days later to speak to a customer service rep on the phone. A reminder was sent to my cell of the upcoming appointment. No one called. Perhaps they should have gotten the reminder. I phoned to reschedule another telephone appointment. This time they did call right on time, and promptly asked for my wife! I informed the rep that my wife had passed away, and that was what the appointment was in regard to. He didn't have a clue, nobody had updated him on the file, further more, he did not apologize for the error, or give his condolences for my wife's passing. I that that was just common courtesy. In any event, this rep seemed like he could care less. Rbc is Canada's biggest bank, but I give them a failing grade for their customer service.
